Fujian - Day 3

I think I must be mixing up all the pics from the trip.... so here's a video clip...

Another early rise and very local breakfast… boiled eggs, congee and mysterious looking items.

The bus takes us out to the ocean side where cultivation of seaweed is done for miles and miles. You hang little seaweed on a stick and put it out in the ocean and they grow… The weather is cold and gloomy again. The seaside is dotted with quite a number of churches and the Chinese temples resemble those back in Malaysia, are the templese we have Chinese temples or Fujian styled ones?

The lunch was on a strange floating contraption which is a holiday resort in summer, in winter the “pool” section is for cultivating baby fish for sale when they are bigger. The boys liked running round and round the “pool”.

The bus ride…. Another 4 hours to Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian, luckily I brought the portable DVD and am surprised how long the batteries have lasted on their leapster.
Fuzhou the city was warmer than the countryside. The hotel is a lot nicer too and porpor takes them back after dinner while I try to shop for some winter gear as the mountains will be even colder, temperatures at single digits.
