Fujian - Day 5

We head down the rivers of Wuyi mountains, it really is a scenic place and for once, plastic is not everywhere, they have been able to keep it really pristine. I suspect that many of the Chinese national parks are well kept. They even have electric cars to reduce pollution in the area.

We head down in these bamboo rafts. It gets really cold towards the end but the water is clear and green. With ike balanced in my arms it was not easy to take any pictures. Someway down the 1.5 hour river ride, he wants to take a pee! imagine holding him to the side of the raft while he pee's into the river.... I think Boon Yong has a picture! another one for the bar mitzvah!

There are 18 bends on the river and in the Chinese cartoons that we have been watching in the room really do reflect the landscapes here…

We also have been watching alot of cartoons as we stay indoors to warm up, the Chinese have not allowed western cartoons to be played here as to give a chance for the local production to catch up. There seems to be a lot of main cartoon characters that are cows. We took another nap this afternoon and cartoons. The weather was very nice in the afternoon but we did not join in the hill climb.

Instead we take the boys to try the steam sauna which Ike did not like, he called it "stinky" probably hard to breathe. He has developed a cough by now, it doesn't progress to a fever nor croup. So apparently the chinese have "weak lungs" and as such they drink warm water and never cold and eat things that help the lungs.
