Baby Emily

Here is Riley's new baby sister, Emily, 2.7 kgs and a cutie pie.

Nate has not taken a nap for the last 2 days as I have been picking up Riley from school and they have been playing together after school. Its quite nice to have both Nate and Ike go to bed between 6:30 to 7pm and a lot more time to sort through other stuff. The afternoon stretch is actually not that bad.

Yesterday, they played a bit then went over to Christine's house for the kiddie yoga, we had yum yum dumplings and mooncakes (sent from Nokia Taipei) and of course chaos! Apparently Riley at one point whispered to Ethan, "go kick kaikai's pee pee" as they were all fighting over bikes, Shelley heard it and started reprimanding both of them (it is now on film as Christine's mom is filming all kiddie activity). When i heard it today, part of me thought sneaky little punk (someone else to do his dirty work), the other part of me actually said ohmmmmm, ohmmmm (does Riley really know what he is doing at this age? as a side note the parenting course session 1 suggests using oh and hmmm which is also a OHMMMM, faber and Mazlish are Jubu's and didn't know it) and thank goodness for shelley who is more reactive, though I wonder if it would have gotten to that stage or do you have to yell at the kid as it is really not a nice thing to do or is "people are not for kicking" sufficient? will bring that up at next session.

Riley is really an intelligent kid, he probably will do really well at a suzuki violin program (of which I have someone hunting down a teacher for me as I type). Well Riley, you may have your chance again one day when Nate starts taking a liking to Emily! then again, you will have to fend off lucas, axel, ike and ethan! karma has a way of coming back....

Today, Riley and Ethan have football practice (mud puppies), here is a pic of nate somewhat joining in (he is the one in blue). Riley and Ethan did not want to share their ball and later at the sand pit, guess who has sand toys??? karma warma... what goes around comes around, though am glad to report nate willingly shared his toys. We all head back home and the kids got on their bikes, the mom's sat on a sheet, baby ike and axel crawling around and one of the mom's brought beer along. Beer may have a goggle effect but them rose tinted goggles sure take the edge off dealing with cranky kids. Its not quite friday but it is hump day!
